Entry Description

Jake Porento reports on the the construction of two new tech-infused classrooms at Deerfield High School.

Judge 1

Positives: Good use of b-roll. Good reporting / writing.

Improvements: Editing was a little choppy. It was awkward to see 2 people on camera when only 1 was talking. The second person always looks strange.

Judge 2

Positives: Nice use of graphics. Although the audio seemed hot, it was edited and mixed well.

Improvements: Audio is very hot! Check your levels. Some of the shots were a little dark. Check your white balance and your lighting.

Judge 3

Positives: A unique topic that would certainly appeal to students. Good story flow using voiceover and soundbytes to guide the story. Also, good use of video and stills.

Improvements: The voiceover work was slightly distorted and distracting. Would have liked to have seen the reporter do some interactive stand-up with the interactive boards. Also would have liked to have heard from students to see how they felt about the interactive boards as opposed to chalk/dry erase board.
