This documentary is about a hockey club in illinois, the documentary focuses on the team, how they started and what the team is all about.
Positives: 1) Interviews are very well-done! 2) Excellent b-roll footage of gameplay!
Improvements: 1) Some still images would be nice to break up the footage on the ice. 2) The only thing missing from the interviews was properly mic'd audio - this would make them perfect!
Positives: Absolutely awesome idea for a doc. What a touching story that is current, impactful, and empowering. The United Center footage is so great. Tons of great b-roll and a few artsy shots that really round out and smooth out the project. Great work!
Improvements: Some of the dolly shots across the ice were incredible. Thats the thing about ice; you can make some awesome camera moves that can be so fluid. I would have liked to see some more shots like that. Even skating with the players and having the camera at ice level following a stick or the puck. There is so much room for creativity in shooting when you are on ice. The interview of Brandon looks awesome. Great place to set up an interview. I would suggest either framing your shot with the people on the ice in the background or try and shoot the interview after practice is over. The voices from the ice were a little distracting during it. But if you see where the noise is coming from, its less disturbing. But I am grasping for straws here. It was great.
Positives: Very creative shots; tracking shots, racking focus, tilts, etc. Interviews were setup very nicely, and contributed perfectly to the piece.
Improvements: When you're interviewing people that tend to move around a little bit, you might want to have your frame just a tad bit looser.
