Chasing Chad

Glenbrook South
Humorous Narrative

Entry Description

Chad is an every day family man, until one day his world comes crumbling down before his eyes. He loses everything in one day all because of a meddling dog and his stupid kids.

Judge 1

Positives: Excellent story. Very original. Loved the costume work and nice use of graphics. The car hitting the dog scene was very well done. I believed it.

Improvements: You could have used more locations. The three main characters should have had different backgrounds. Like a basement wall for Chad since hes in prison.

Judge 2

Positives: Voice over, music and captions were a great addition to the overall creativity and tone. It felt very Unsolved Mysteries. Established a great tone using all storytelling elements.

Improvements: Make your scenes more concise. Some of the dialogue seemed to go on longer than they needed to. It will make your story clear and and flow better.

Judge 3

Positives: Graphics and stylization of color (i.e. Black & White) worked well. It felt like a date-line episode. I instantly knew the type of characters and story that you were looking to tell. The dog/car hit was very nicely paced and I feared for the poor puppy.

Improvements: I loved the "dramatization" but would have really liked to see different actors (perhaps either better looking or overly exaggerated) to help tell those portions of the story. Using the same actors was a bit jarring. Is Vehicular Animal Manslaughter a thing? Not sure about that phrasing. The end graphics were really nice but it seemed like it needed to go somewhere. Could have been a nice place for one last joke with a fun title end card.
