It's their last year and the Retiring teachers are going to show the Seniors how to pull off pranks.
Positives: Great idea! I think teachers pulling pranks on students is hilarious. And its great to see all those teachers willing to participate! The craigslist ad cracked me up. "Square foot....alot!"
Improvements: Try using a tripod for more of your wider shots. A stabilized camera can really smooth out your project. Some of the cuts could have been a little smoother too. If you have the time and opportunity, try and record multiple takes of a scene so you can more smoothly cut between them instead of jumping around the room. I think this is a fantastic concept for a short film. Try and spend a little more time coming up with pranks teachers could pull on students and you could do a teacher prank of the week on youtube! The selling the school prank was not really pranking the students and the cell phone prank would have been amazing if the students racked up detention every time it rang. Work with this idea more, its brilliant!!
Positives: Funny idea. Cool that you were able to get the faculty on board. Seems like a fun shoot.
Improvements: Pay attention to the framing before rolling on a shot. Make sure your audience doesn't have to look around in a frame to see what is happening. Their eye should be drawn to what you want to convey. Get closer with your characters. Watch the head space in a frame. Try close-ups and medium shots. It is better to shoot coverage and helps you have options in post.
Positives: Interesting concept. Great job in convincing the faculty to help out on your video.
Improvements: Multi-cam shooting would have helped with this concept, giving the editor more b-roll and options for cutting to help quicken the pace and go with the overall concept of feeling like a prank show. Be careful using licensed music. For small video project that are only shown in-house you can get by but you will run into problems if you need to show this/upload it to video sites.
