Entry Description

In this comedy two of Nick's friends attempt to talk some sense into there minecraft addicted buddy. A heartfelt end reminds us that friendship conquers all...but not really.

Judge 1

Positives: good choice in music. Really helped the story along. Great handheld work. Kept good framing on each shot.

Improvements: Excessive profanity. Bleeped profanity kind of takes people out of the story. Have you ever watched Liar Liar or Happy Gilmore on TV? When they bleep or change profanity it kinda ruins the scene.

Judge 2

Positives: Shot selection / coverage was well done which made the edit and overall look of the film stand out. Great pacing and usage of handheld.

Improvements: Profanity isn't necessary to be funny. It doesn't seems necessary to your story. If it doesn't add anything to your story or character then you don't need it. Bleeping out profanity can be jarring and you can do with out it.

Judge 3

Positives: The overall pace and editorial of this piece was well done and kept the story moving while keeping the audience engaged. The use of camera angles and insert shots helped further the story telling.

Improvements: Be mindful of jump cuts. Sometimes it's better to cut a shot/line to avoid a jump cut. As long as the line is not detrimental to the telling of the story. Overall the story was very complete in it's execution but it may have been nice to see the lead character have a bigger decision to overcome to drive him to make the change to stop playing Minecraft.
