Entry Description

The Barrington Cultural Commission and the Catlow Theater rolled out the red carpet to 575 movie aficionados on the eve of the 85th Academy Awards.

Judge 1

Positives: Good b-roll Great reporting.

Improvements: Be careful of how you frame a shot in relation to where the name banner graphic text appears on the screen. When shooting an interview, stage the talent so that the camera gan get a face-on shot of the subject, not just profile.

Judge 2

Positives: The reporter did a fantastic job providing information while also asking leading questions that kept the story going. The camera work was very good. The subjects were well lit and shots were tight.

Improvements: The music was way too loud. Drowned out some of the bites. Some of the shots were out of focus.

Judge 3

Positives: On-air personality has great energy and a great voice. Well organized piece and good music to match the movie theme. A good mix of interviews.

Improvements: Though the music matched the movie theme, there were moments when it was slightly overbearing. The start of the piece could have used a few more movie elements (clips from movies).
