Positives: That video was so swag, boy. I really felt like he could have been a real rapper with that personality. Great lighting on the interviews and the outdoor shoots. Good exposure and lighting on everything....except that one shot!

Improvements: That one interview shot of his old friend. It looks like it may have been done for effect. Unfortunately, overexposure never really looks good. You are better off trying to get the same effect in post, if it was done on purpose. The video may have been a little long. I think you could have gotten the point across in 3 minutes. That would have made the video tighter, and gotten the viewer to the point of the film faster. Quality over quantity.

Positives: Really enjoyed the surprise music video at the end. Way to use your resources to make it look bigger. Great set design. Very fun character you created.

Improvements: Be careful when lighting white walls (light bounces off white) or shooting against a window (sunlight). You will blow out your background if the light is too harsh. Check your frame in camera or on a monitor. If the background is blown out then you need to diffuse/get rid of light. You can turn off lights or diffuse it by bouncing it or putting on a filter.

Judge 3

Positives: The interview section had nice production value and the high angle shot was very appealing to the eye. Albiet the content while driving not having much substance the choice of shooting in the car while driving was a nice visual choice.

Improvements: The music choice for the documentary section didn't seem to fit with the overall theme of the story. i.e. Ratatat is not rap. This piece seemed to lack direction of story. Documentaries or 'moc-umentaries' still need to follow the basic rules of story telling to engage the audience and inflict an emotion. If there was a reason for Swagboy to prove/show he was the best it may have engaged the audience. The introduction of a conflict would have helped achieve this.
