Entry Description

A Feature Story covering the time between Homecoming and Halloween where students get in a rut.

Judge 1

Positives: Good use of humor. Smooth editing.

Improvements: Needs a more definitive ending. Don't girls get in a slump too? Where are they?

Judge 2

Positives: Really great, creative piece. The music moved the piece along and the bites were very funny. Great use of graphics to break up the bites.

Improvements: The story ended quite abruptly. That was disappointing. Some of the shots were a little dull. I know there was an effect to create that look, but it washed out some of the subjects.

Judge 3

Positives: Great opening sequence... and great mix of artistry and comedy. Very good humor... good dry humor. Love that. Good use of colors to signify the "slump."

Improvements: This piece had me smiling, but the truth is I had no idea where it was going (on the other hand, I also wanted it to keep going). I would suggest coming up with some sort of "goal" of the piece or "end game" to the slump in order to ensure the viewer doesn't walk away feeling like "what just happened?" ala Mulholland Drive (movie, 2001).
