Entry Description

A high school student rushes to get to school in the morning following a series of unexpected events. This trailer is a parody of the first teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Judge 1

Positives: Cutting the scenes with the original trailer music was spot on. The end titles were well done.

Improvements: There is only really one single thing that could be improved, and that would have been to try and pattern the shots more after the actual trailer. Each cut should have corresponded to the movement, composition, or action of the original (ex. the bike riding could have been a closeup of the wheels to look like BB8 rolling through the shot). This is nitpicking though, because this is still fine as is.

Judge 2

Positives: Great storyline. The editing was very effective, especially at the beginning where the student is realizing he may be late for school. The audio mix and voice over was very good.

Improvements: Try to set up more obstacles at the school. Try to build the severity of being tardy. This is the moment for the security monitors to do their job that they have eagerly been waiting to do, the hall monitors are all in place, the vice principle is preparing to discipling late students, etc.
