Gizmo
Positives: * Good use of effective special effects. * Fun sci-fi story that effectively tells itself with no dialogue. * I like how it has a "with great power comes great responsibility" vibe (in that he's abusing it and there's a consequence).
Improvements: * When he teleports, I think the image of him "falling" slightly into the scene is a bit cheesy. * In the final climatic sequence where he accidentally teleports himself to space, I think you're missing a shot that shows this more dramatically. A piece of paper seems weak to convey this and then the credits come in too quickly. Something creative, more dramatic than a piece of paper and a bit more drawn out before the credits come in would lend for a more powerful ending. * Good lighting otherwise, but the scene at 0:18 is too darkly lit.
Positives: A great way to create science fiction in a modern day setting. The cinematography and editing worked in tandem to show what was happening to the main character.
Improvements: The tone of the ending wasn't in keeping with the rest of the piece, which was about discovery. What other ways are there to end the film without sending him into a black hole?
