This short documentary fallows the story of Chase Spadino, a malpractice victim born with cerebral palsy. He was classified as a right side hemiplegic and struggled to have the life of normal children. Luckily for Chase, he had two loving parents and a brother who were determined to help Chase by any means possible. After going through many different types of therapy, Chase has made amazing progress. He has also changed the lives of his family forever
Positives: The story was well told. Editing was near perfect.
Improvements: At times the music seemed too much. Lighting the interviews could have been better instead of using available light.
Positives: Well-paced narrative, made it very touching. Really got to know Chase's parents. The editing was also strong. Not flashy, but well-chosen cut points that cleanly moved the story forward.
Improvements: I'd work harder on the supers. The font and treatment wasn't very attractive. It may seem like a small thing, but it detracts from the elegance of the rest of the film. And I didn't think the music added much. It was just kind of there. I think there's an opportunity for more emotional music to further the drama of the story.
