LHS football broadcast. 4 camera broadcast.

Judge 1

Positives: I thought the score ribbon was done pretty well and it was easy to read. This is not always the case for HS productions, so that was something that stood out. I thought the use of cameras and directing was excellent. The production had a good amount of cameras, but the Director did not switch to them just because they could. It was thought out well and flowed well together.

Improvements: The biggest problem was that the audio and video did not match up, as the audio was behind. I am not sure if it was an upload problem or if that was the way it was on the broadcast. I can only judge on what I see, and that was a major issue. The talent sounded good and had a lot of inside information...almost too much. It is good educating the viewers, but you want to straddle that line of not feel like you are trying to teach the viewer. I also thought it was tough at times to determine who was doing Play-by-Play and who was color. This needs to be decided and then their roles should be made clear by the Director.
