Entry Description

This is a compilation of my cinematography during the 2015-2016 school year. A portion of the work was filmed for school projects and other shots were taken outside of school.

Judge 1

Positives: Very strong images - nice compositions, movement and angles. You get in there with the wide angle lenses. Good.

Improvements: Always give the editor 3 shots sizes of a scene. You've played with the handheld wide angle shot, now get a good tripod and go extreme long lens. You should add to what you already do well - show a range - more lit scenes, more long lens, less movement (to contrast with the always moving wide angle).

Judge 2

Positives: nice work, glad to see many shooting scenarios and not just dramatic scenes. The fact that you are not limited to a slider or staged shooting gives you more value in the business. YOU HAVE A GOOD EYE.

Improvements: A little to much on the editing side - remember it is a cin reel. Let your shots and the music naturally be one. The swim shot with the multiple edits turned me off a bit.
