A series of shots showing the beauty of the world around you, if you would only stop and take a look.
Positives: You did great getting light into the eyes. Your expose across the board is near perfect, everything looks great!
Improvements: Your shots are excellent but they are being messed up a lot by too much cropping of the image, I'd love to see your shots with the full frame in tact. Might also want to keep more things from being blown out in some shots the sun over powers the frame losing too much of the frame as result.
Positives: This is a wonderfully edited reel with great music selection. This filmmaker has a very particular style and vision for his projects, including a Lubezki-esque knack for micro-photography and emotional close-up work. The filmmaker displayed a good variety of lighting technique and motion. I particularly enjoyed the second half of the reel that included some wildlife cinematographic, a beautiful available-light match/fire shot, and a subtle tracking shot pulling back from a crumbling staircase with a lot of character – the filmmaker captured that character. I enjoy the opening as well – nicely chosen font and a beautiful cut to a dark flower shot.
Improvements: The first half of the reel was a bit weaker than the second half. I would have liked to see all of the low-contrast bowling material replaced with more emotional shots from other projects that give us more of a unique perspective on the world / humans / animals.
