Entry Description

Luke Sawicki, once a top football prospect for several major Division I schools, is all but forgotten by them after sustaining two ACL tears. He aims to prove them wrong.

Judge 1

Positives: The story was well told. The cinematography was excellent, very moving, especially the shots of his walking alone.

Improvements: I feel it needed some quick shots of kids playing football and crashing into each other to make the audience feel the impact of how hard they get hit. Lighting was a bit dark.

Judge 2

Positives: Fantastic job. Really wrapped you into his story immediately. Moving film. Heartbreaking at times. Great film-speed choices. Great lighting choices -- dark and moody. Music and editing were very strong. Keep going, you have a ton of promise.

Improvements: The only criticism I have is I wish the film had ended with a sense of what was next. Was he still going to try to play football in college? Was he going to give up on the dream? I would've liked to see a little more of a definitive idea of what was next. But excellent job overall.
