Entry Description

The 365Barrington Game of the Week Series is a full yearlong video series that covers BHS Sports. Including but not limited to Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Hockey, we attempt to capture the greatest moments from Barrington Athletics, and bring them to you the next day through video. Segments Include "Sights and Sounds", "Press Pass" Player Interviews, and all the best highlights from Barrington athletic competitions. You won't miss a moment of the action on the 365 Game of the Week! ("Press Pass" Post-Game interviews cut due to time restraint)

Judge 1

Positives: Excellent job shooting the footage - following the action, great cutaways, great natural sounds of the crowd cheering, whistle blowing, etc. Looks like you got down on the field and moved around to get your shots. Very good. Great job editing it all together. Loved your use of speed as well - slowing or speeding up the shots. Good sound effects at the end there, as well. Great talent energy. Very authentic. Overall excellent job!

Improvements: You may have brought the music down a bit so it didn't compete so much with the reporter track. At 2:28 (running time) the reporter track doesn't "land" naturally as a sentence would when having a conversation. It sounds cut off. Maybe that was an edit that was made to shorten the piece. I would've made the call to re-record the track, if possible. After the game footage, when you cut back to the reporter stand up, it might have been nice to add an on screen graphic of the final score.

Judge 2

Positives: Lots of good work here. Good lighting throughout, good uptempo pace, clear and informative VO. Audio levels were balanced and nothing was over-modulated. Appropriate music track, level adjusted well. Also a good, clear, enthusiastic performance from your host.

Improvements: For me, there was maybe too much detail, because in spite of the quick pace, I found myself a tad bored by the end. Not too much else to pick on here. Perhaps more frequent reminder of the score with accompanying graphic. There's so much info being thrown at us, it's good to make sure the audience can keep up. Very solid job.

Positives: Great effects and coverage of the event.

Improvements: Some of the camera shots were too wide and hard to follow action. Music could have been toned down a bit.
