A High School Senior tests out different jobs he could do after he graduates.
Positives: I thought the editing of the show open was great! It moved quickly and had a lot of energy - it draws the viewer in. Good job on the comedic effort! Great job moving the story forward while you were in front of the camera and behind it! Good job making that work and look seamless.
Improvements: Towards the end, I didn't think you always needed the full screen text graphic. Sometimes the scene was self explanatory and sometimes a scene extension would've given you a better pay off. The talent delivery was understated, which worked, for the most part. A couple scenes may have benefited from a bit more energy. You may have chosen a different song for the show open - something more contemporary. The cut you chose gave it a throw-back feel, which you may or may not have been going for.
Positives: Nice job setting up the premise right away. It's smart to establish right off the bat that this episode is about working for family- specifically Uncle Frank. I also liked the devise of the actor glancing at the camera from time to time establishing that we're in on the joke with him.
Improvements: I think the details of how bad this job is could be thought through a bit more. Uncle Frank actually seems like a decent guy, and the job isn't obviously hideous or humiliating. So when he quits right away and says it was the worst job ever, he can come off like an entitled brat instead of someone that we want to root for. It's hard to evaluate the cinematography and production value of this documentary style show. It's pretty rough and amateurish, but much of that is intentional. I'd reconsider the opening credit sequence to make it focus on the trials and tribulations of Mark's daily life. What you have here looks like a high school promotional video and doesn't really establish the tone or style of the show itself.
Positives: Interesting idea for a show. Mostly very high quality audio for some many on-site locations.
Improvements: Lighting was difficult in remote settings. Camera movement sometimes too abrupt.
