Judge 1

Positives: Very Very good camera work and overall choice of concept. Editing was fantastic. I really appreciated that this idea worked with the actors age. High school projects often pick a plot that makes no sense for high school students to be acting out and its doomed from the beginning. This is cool and makes sense.

Improvements: Don't have anything bad to say about this. Great job. Clear winner in my eyes. Fantastic camera work. I watched again to make sure that everything was exposed properly- and it essentially was. That could have been my only critique but you did a good job.

Judge 2

Positives: Beautifully shot, and the black and white look gives this piece a timeless quality that I love. Good performance from your actor, too.

Improvements: Very hard to see the photograph the boy finds and I had to go back a few times to figure out it was the boy and the dog. Adding a good, clear CU of the picture somewhere would have helped - even if you waited until the end to reveal what was in the photo. The shots of the dog in the dark were also hard to see. Clarifying the dog parts of the story, or maybe showing the dog attacking the boy might have helped to explain the end when the boy kills the dog, and also give the moment more emotional weight.
