A weekly newscast that informs the students of Eisenhower of what is to come later in the week

Judge 1

Positives: 1. Nice mix of stories from within the school. Good to see packages with reporter narration and also (in the case of the Jim Smith story) a reporter stand-up. 2. Nice-looking video open and close to the show.

Improvements: 1. Try for more of a variety of shots while shooting your stories and sequence the shots while editing (wide shot to medium shot to close-up to cutaway). Avoid camera movement (like pans, tilts, etc.) that isn't motivated or that you cut away from before you've finished moving the camera. 2. Anchors are engaging, but the male anchor sounds off-mic. Try to keep both anchors at a consistent volume if you can and try to maintain as much eye contact with the camera as you can. And if there's a way to avoid having interviewees hold their own mics--say by using a lav mic if you have access to one--that would help.
