This is a movie trailer based off of all the popular stalker/ serial killer horror movies. Ive always wanted to make something like this growing up watching these types of movies with my brother. The film is not meant to be pop out scary but the kind of scary to get in you head.
Positives: "Alone" really succeeds in teasing a 'psychological thriller/horror' piece, and almost has an 'It Follows'–esque aesthetic. This is a strong trailer because of it's simplicity/clarity in narrative with no need for dialogue or exposition. This simplicity allows this trailer's eerie imagery to stand out. Excellent sound editing adds to that imagery, and really punctuates the most horrifying moments – particularly in the hallway cross-cutting section. A pale color palette, and solid camera-work (voyeuristic shot from outside of the house, eerie hand shot, low hallway moving shots) help this piece along even further.
Improvements: With the trailer's simplicity comes slightly over-simplistic editing. A few additional slams to black, strategically placed, could help build tension further and break up a few of the lengthy shots of the young woman on the couch. Polishing the camera movement during some of the sequences could really help sell the tension as well – imagine a very slow dolly in towards the hand pressing against the window as she is making her call. Could push the tension further.
Positives: Excellent lighting and editing/pacing. The audio was appropriate. You established a sense of horror throughout. The ghost-like images of the killer are great.
Improvements: Here are some suggestions to consider. Reverse the order of your first two shots. Start with the long shot and cut to the shot where the girl enters the house. Consider deleting the last shot of the girl walking and cut directly to the shot of the guy with the ax. The shadow of some walking ahead of the killer is visible. I think this will give the piece a more powerful ending.
