Entry Description

A father daughter road trip through the land of Lincoln brings the pair closer together.

Judge 1

Positives: The text message start and end worked well to tell the story. Nice use of abstract camera shots to help establish locations.

Improvements: More tripod shots mixed in would help. Too much hand held camera work. It needed a bigger shot on the chorus. Maybe a wide shot of the father and daughter walking. Could have used some color correction to match scene to scene.

Judge 2

Positives: Great concept! Some of your shots were composed perfectly... The "documentary style" of shooting is great but don't believe it displays your skill. You have a great eye, you tell a story without words... if shots were smoother and more connected, it would have pushed this to the next level. Keep up the good work - you clearly work hard and think through your process.

Improvements: Could have used a camera stabilizer - would have helped a lot. Always remember that when you do a camera move, let your shot land. camera moves need to feel purposeful
