Entry Description

A Nike commercial that shows the general use of the brand through high school sports.

Judge 1

Positives: Great use of a large variety of shots. A few more tights of the brand logo on shoes/clothing and of the athletes would further drive home your message! I liked the pacing of your commercial and your music choice a lot. you did a really nice job of pumping me up about sports- maybe just a little more visuals that would have made the high school aspect more obvious.

Improvements: you did a great job getting a lot of broll- just make sure you white balance and use the right lighting! Your ending montage is great with the quick cuts to the logo. the use of the logo within the commercial was a slight bit much.... sometimes less is more.

Judge 2

Positives: Two elements that worked well - 1. I enjoyed the camera angles, the low feet shots at the beginning of the film, the high shots of the cross country runners running through the forest, the low shots of the runners on the street, nice creative eye. 2. I also liked the quick ECU of the Nike logo on all the shoes at the end of the film. Nice editing to reinforce the brand on the viewer.

Improvements: Two recommendations for improvement - 1. The narrative was a little weak. I enjoyed seeing the general use of the brand however it would have been nice to see some storyline with it. My suggestions would be to start the film with people putting on their shoes, starting their workout, getting deep into their workout, cooling off and then taking their shoes off. 2. The lighting was flat. Many images looked dark and even the indoor shots the coloring looked flat. My suggestion would be to adjust the dark shots in the edit bay to bring more color and vibrancy to the film.
