A short reel showcasing the unused and unvisited of my school

Judge 1

Positives: Opening shot was nice and the tone was well established. The shots of the snow falling showed control over the camera. I liked the varying use of focal lengths.

Improvements: I think the second shot and 4th shot could have come later in the piece or been removed completely. I liked the consistent bleak tone, but I think it could the cinematographer should have either added additional shots of students or taken them out completely. Perhaps profile shots of students looking sad would have added a humanistic element to this mood piece. Editing was well executed but some shots held much too long.

Judge 2

Positives: You have a good eye for shot composition. Very interesting and unique concept. I like the contrast concept as well

Improvements: Sadly there was a 1 or 2 frames of black late in the video between shots. Again, shot comps were great but camera work was unstable on several shots. A simple stabilizer would have brought the score up a lot. Time lapse was a bit over used - Consider using time lapse and then at a point in the music or shot bring the video to reg speed or slow motion to highlight the drama.
