This documentary is a look into the lives of the Glenbrook South custodians, who oftentimes work later than midnight to reset the school for staff and students.
Positives: This is absolutely lovely. It’s fresh; it’s original; it’s well structured; and contains a great message—certainly something we don’t normally think about. Thank you for telling such a compelling and engaging story that has provided wonderful humanity to a hidden group of people. This is shot so well. The interviews are wonderful; they’re very interesting content-wise, and very professionally lit. Your use of timelapse is extremely interesting and very appropriate.
Improvements: Audio: some of the interviews are right-panned only (so the audio only comes out of the right speaker). Make sure to pan all audio to MID so we get a well balanced soundtrack. As I said above, the interviews are so professionally done, and they all match style wise (dark, industrial with beautiful dramatic lighting) — except for Sahar. It’d be nice if she matched the rest of the interviews style-wise. Nice job!
Positives: WOW. Couldn't stop watching. EXCELLENT concept. Loved the story. Miguel's story is powerful. You should consider making this into a 30 minute documentary and really build out each character - probably only need about 2-3 to focus on in the doc. Great music at the top, too. Loved the title - love alliteration. You know it's a good story when you FEEL for the subject. Shots were unbelievable. Set design & lighting were great. Loved the timelapse at the top. I wanted to hear more from Miguel. Does he have a family? How much do they make? How do they live? Just excellent work - very impressive.
Improvements: Maybe feature 2-3 subjects, rather than the number in the doc.
