Entry Description

A recently deceased young girl is mourned by those who love her - but is she really gone? That is the question at the heart of this original music video.

Judge 1

Positives: The shots in the field worked well and had a great feel. The natural light looks amazing. I love the use of the mirror! The closeups worked really well in combination with strong compositions outdoors.

Improvements: the funeral scene could have been shot differently, the handheld camera was a little rough, but the lighting and overall mood throughout the scene was strong.

Judge 2

Positives: The indoor scene was very well lit. Also, I enjoyed many of the camera movements in the ourdoor scenes with the female subject. The mood of the outdoor shots match that of the music very well.

Improvements: Without reading the description of the video first, I'm not sure that I would have followed the narrative. This was in part because you didn't make enough use of the indoor shots to really show what was happening. If the camera had panned to more faces, that would have helped, along with cutting back to the indoor scene to show the connection better. This would have also held the interst of the viewer more. Finally, some of your initial outdoor shots, which panned the landscape were a bit too long.
