Entry Description

Lake Forest College Football Coach prepares his team, and future recruits, for what it means to be part of the Forester Family.

Judge 1

Positives: Great job using the coaches speech to narrate the story. Great energy at the end! Way to get a lot of broll to match the narration. I can tell you spent a lot of time getting the perfect shots you wanted to use. the shots at the beach are fantastic.

Improvements: The music was a little low- maybe a little boost could have added even more energy. The beginning shot while nice didn't give the viewer to see the college name-- maybe a few more beats so viewers unfamiliar with college know the name right away.

Judge 2

Positives: Two elements that worked well - 1. I really enjoyed the pace of this film. The video, quick cuts, and the VO (pump up speech) complemented each other nicely and created a high energy piece. Well done. 2. I also liked the camera angles that were captured. The tight shots of the players training on the beach, POV walking through the line of people cheering, the CU of the coach's speech in the locker room, the POV of the players running through the campus.

Improvements: Two recommendations for improvement - 1. The opening scene "Forester" was too short. I recommend panning out more and extending this shot for 2 -3 more seconds to give the viewer a chance to read and understand what school / team we're about to watch. 2. The sound was a little off at points throughout the video. Specifically, after the training on the beach, while walking through the line of people cheering. The cheering overpowered the VO and made it difficult to understand what was said in that scene.
