John Hersey High School and A Soldier's Journey Home joined together to raise funds to build a handicap accessible home for LCpl. Cody Evans. The Media Tech class and HTV News were able to capture this wonderful story on a great day.
Positives: nice open shot. BEAUTIFUL STORY! thank you for doing it! This is what a doc is about. I wish all the tech was perfect because this is a great story.
Improvements: Wish you used nat sound on some of the broll. some audio edits are rushed - slow down your pacing between bites the Applause under the broll at then end (first bit) is only on the left ch - need to center pan it
Positives: Strong editing, carried the story along nicely and built emotion as it went along. The music was strong too, very warm and evocative, matched the narrative well.
Improvements: A little too long spent on the time-lapse shot of the house being built. It's a nice shot but just lingered too long. Some cutaways would help enrich and make more powerful the narrative. Tight shots of the house being built, the soldier's prosthetic legs, etc.
