Judge 1

Positives: Really nicely done! You’ve told a great story here, and have combined really well shot footage with very engaging interviews—and have used a creative variety of effects and compositing to construct this narrative. Great opening title sequence! I absolutely love how you incorporated the titles into the footage. Very creative.

Improvements: Most of what I would recommend improving for this piece is related to the audio. Some interviews have crisp/clear audio; others seem like they were shot with the on-board camera mic. Also, there are some audio transitions near the end of the piece that are a bit abrupt. So some things need smoothing out… but mostly, I’d recommend that you really make sure you get good interview audio to begin with. The end of the piece comes very, very quickly. With as great at your opening title sequence is... I would have loved to have seen the ending be as creative (or at least wrapped up more cleanly).

Positives: Excellent use of graphics, visual effects and music. Bravo! Very impressive! Very well constructed and put together. Great interviews, great editing. Top notch piece! Professional quality.

Improvements: This is minor, but I would've tried to cup put the "so" at the top of the first sound bite to make it a cleaner bite. It's also slightly repetitive. At 2:03 the you could have faded the haunted house background audio down rather than do a hard cut, which was a bit jarring. Wanted to see the guy running out at the end but it got cut off!
