  • 3/7 12:38 pm - This was a great trailer! The story is very clear and you establish the conflict quickly which works well. I love the wide angle shot of the previous owner's face--adds to the creepy feel. Well paced editing and suspenseful music. I particularly like the ending text and how it flickers with the sound effect. Good shot variety and use of specific camera angles with a purpose. Ending shot is scary!
  • 3/5 10:11 pm - The story was very strong, overall. Good job of slowly rolling out the exposition and building up the rising action to a cliffhang. The music was cool! Very Hitchcock sounding! Camera shots were well framed and you had a good mix of close ups to build tension and develop character. Overall, this felt like a movie trailer. I think your trailer needed to end with some sort of marketing slogan in addition to the title. Also, and I realize this is a high school festival, but casting students in older roles was a bit distracting. I think you could have made the creepy man be a creepy teen. You would have lost none of the impact. Just something to think about. I also think some more shots outside of the house of the man spying on the girls or of the girls spying on the man would have been welcome just to break up the sameness of the shots in the house.

Positives: Good pacing and editing – use of soundtrack is effective. Overall premise is very clear.

Improvements: This piece could be improved with a more distinct style of camerawork and lighting – a few of the chase sequences has some nice low-light elements, but use off shadow could have helped the aesthetic match the dark tone of the narrative. It would have been nice to see the antagonist played by an older actor to help sell the premise.

Positives: Very well done. Good use of camera angles, lighting, and framing to tell a story. Excellent trailer that informs the audience about the narrative.

Improvements: Consider working on your three-point lighting to further enhance your cinematography. Also look into a steady cam to help further balance your moving camera as handheld does not seem completely inline with the film.
