Live broadcast of Crown Point hosting LaPorte in boys' basketball.
Positives: sideline reporter is a great addition excellent graphic/score bar
Improvements: high camera could push in when teams cross half court better usage of hand held cams/shots; hero shot, offense/defense transitions better coordination between color/play-by-play announcers
Positives: Very good audio. Commentators were very clear. I also like your lower third / score graphic. Very easy to read and professional looking. Adding a sideline reporter was a great idea. Excellent close at the end.
Improvements: Audio on the sideline commentator was a bit to high and may have been peaking. Video feels a bit grainy / fuzzy to me.
Positives: I thought that the talent was very good together, showing great chemistry on when to talk and make their points. They both were knowledgeable about the team and the sport, which also helped. As far as the Directing, I thought there were a lot of good things, including staying on the wide shot at times when a tendency would be to switch because you can.
Improvements: One slight thing to mention for the talent would be when they went to the sideline reporter. The play-by-play guy clearly was told by the Director to get to the sideline reporter. This is a hard skill to master, but the best thing to do is finish the sentence and then go to the report. In this case, there was an audible pause and the thought was not finished. Also, it is always good for the reporter to have a "voice of" super for the reporter. I also think the report was a bit too quick. You don't want to go too long and miss the game play, but there needs to be a happy medium. When they did switch to other shots (behind the hoop), it is usually better to either stay there through the shot or get back to the game camera before the shot goes up. Switching as the shot is going up can be jarring for the viewer.
