This is our broadcast crew production of a varsity basketball game against rival Glenbrook South. Our basketball crew had 10 people including 5 cameras, directors, tech director, scoreboard, audio and steaming director.
Positives: Great hero shot coverage. Great variety of shots during time out.
Improvements: High shots during play need more room. More ambient in audio mix. overall a bit muddy. Play by play/color announcer need to be careful stepping on each other.
Positives: Your audio and video quality were very good. Also, extra points for having a baseline camera angle. It goes a long way to keep the broadcast interesting.
Improvements: Your lower third / score on screen, while sophisticated, seems a bit difficult to read. Less graphical elements and more space dedicated to making the names and score easier to read would help. Announcers seemed a bit unsure of themselves.
Positives: The directing overall was very well done, as far as composition of shots and switching cameras when necessary. The hero shot of the player after a hoop is something you do not see at the HS level too often. I really liked the variety of shots during the timeout on the floor, which included inside the huddle and fans getting excited. Very well done.
Improvements: I think the talent probably just need to work on their chemistry a little bit more on when to talk. Normally you should let the play-by-play person finish the description of the play before commenting on how good the play was or how it happened. Often the color guy came in too quickly. The overall sound mix was a bit low, and there was also some struggle potting up the color announcer at times.
