  • 3/7 10:55 am - Opening of story was powerful. Writing was informative and creative. The transitions from voice over to soundbite was executed to near perfection. The b-roll footage was creatively edited to match audio.
  • 3/5 3:16 pm - Voice over is effective and concise. Solid diction. This story takes a really serious turn, and I think you handled it well. I appreciate that this story sandwiches the negative by framing the positive. The interviews are okay, but the voice over is what really sells this story. The b-roll is just fine while at the club, but it would have been more interesting to film the students in other settings as well, especially those you interviewed. This would mirror the story you're trying to tell -- that the issues are not just for the club, but real life, too.

Positives: - I think your choice of story is commendable. It's important to bring such awful behavior to light and dispel misinformation. - I liked your use of the old video of feminist rallies. Nice touch!

Improvements: - The story would be stronger if the incidents involving the feminism club fliers were mentioned earlier. It's an important part of why you're doing the story, but it almost feels like an afterthought. - This is a hard story to tell visually, but there are too many shots of the club members sitting in a classroom. Perhaps, focusing on one club member would be helpful. You could show that person doing a few different school activities before getting to the feminism club.

Positives: Message effective. Pacing is good.

Improvements: First shot doesn't illustrate anything. This is the first thing viewers see so it should represent something important to the story. Also story starts out referencing GBN without saying what it stands for. Rallies have sound. If there is anyplace, that Nat Sot needs to be heard it's at rallies, large crowds of people! :17 @ 1:11-1:28 on the newspaper way too long.
