  • 4/27 5:05 pm - Great dialogue. Characters are well defined. Good use of special effects. Intriguing story-line. Hint of menace near the end. Music choices were great. Performances were great. The performances did not feel forced-they seemed natural.
  • 3/22 7:45 am - Shots tend to draw on for long periods of time, even with the text cut into them. The music overlaying the audio makes it hard to understand what is being said. Framing often cuts off the subject. The editing pieces together the storyline rather well, and the use of after effects adds well to the overall concept.
  • 3/6 3:18 pm - This trailer got stronger as time passed. The title design and the special effects were very nice. I like how the font complimented the markings on the lead character. The opening scene was very weak. The sound quality was low and the shot compositions were strange angles. This being the opening scene of the trailer, the lack of technical clarity is distracting to the audience and hurts the rest of the piece.
Judge 1

Positives: The comedy of the performances helps carry this trailer. Narrative was very clear. This piece had nice GFX cards to enhance the aesthetic and style, and had an effective antagonist reveal.

Improvements: Audio production could have been improved – recording dialogue with a boom mic will really help bring out the comedic quality of the performances, and cut down a lot of the background noise. The soundtrack choice seemed a bit misplaced – too energetic for the subject matter. It would be great to see additional lighting used to further the tone of the piece, along with distinct camerawork. The VFX elements are fun, but could be more effectively displayed by coming up with practical effects, or at least adding sound effects to help sell the powers the protagonist has attained.

Improvements: The production value was lacking a bit in some shots where poor lighting hurt the overall effectiveness of the trailer.
