A story highlighting the Gay-Straight Alliance at Maine South High School.
Positives: Good storytelling of why this club exists and what the club is all about. Good interviews - the sound bytes you chose really helped to tell the story. Nice b-roll of the window decorating - what other b-roll shots could you have used?
Improvements: Watch the framing of your interviews. One gal was looking towards the left and you had her positioned on the left side of the shot - the lead room should be in the direction where she's looking - not behind her. Balance your audio - all of it should be coming through on 2 channels (L&R). Always include the natural audio from your b-roll in your story - otherwise it's awkward to watch without it. Tighten up on some of your interview shots - especially of the teacher. There was too much "empty" space around her that wasn't necessary for the story. If this is a true news package, there needs to be some type of ending/conclusion to it from the reporter. The 2nd VO (or maybe it was a sound byte) was from someone that was unknown - identify who that was. If it was a VO, then it should have been in the same voice as the original reporter who first started this story.
Positives: i loved that you told the story mostly with interviews. nice job getting those and concentrating on letting them tell their story. good job on lighting!
Improvements: on some of the broll if you had repositioned yourself to get a better angle on some of the shots of the volunteers would have liked to see a little more variety for broll shot.
