  • 3/7 8:12 am - Cute idea. I like the story but it does get confusing after a while. I also feel like it takes a long time to make it through the list. The video was blurry and a little shaky, but it was easy to understand what you were trying to do. The audio seemed a bit too high at points as well.
  • 2/27 3:25 pm - I think you could set your story up more clearly at the top. I don’t get a clear understanding of what sets off the decorating and writing the letter to Santa in the opening musical credit portion, which makes it harder to invest in the ultimate outcome of the story. I’d consider lowering (maybe entirely?) the source audio on your clips there and just committing to a music video style opening. Just a thought. I think more attention to your audio as a whole would be a good idea. Your camera work is decent, but not always polished. Some focus issues here and there. But your sequencing, composition, and lighting are solid. What pulled me out occasionally were story issues. Why does he ball up the letter? Who is the other guy and why does he read the letter? What is the point of making that list? If it’s just to embarrass the hero, that could be more clear. Overall, a solid effort, but more polish in these various aspects would be helpful.

Positives: The video is filled with shots and good edits. The sound mix was spot on.

Improvements: The iris bloomed a few times. I'm guessing it was automatic and could not be set to manual. I'm hard pressed to find much wrong.

Positives: Loved the opening music track. Loved what you you were trying to do with this short. Filmmaker(s) really had a big vision for what they wanted to do and I loved that about the piece.

Improvements: A little confusing off the top. The goal was to say this dude has unparalleled xmas spirit -- would have loved to have seen more specific examples of just how over the top he is when it comes to Christmas. Just something more specific and original. Bad, bad example because I'm the kind of crappy examples -- main character replaces the frame picture of his girlfriend with a picture of Santa.
