  • 4/27 12:09 pm - Great interview setup and the subject lighting is good. The movement and speed of the images and text is a little distracting. I would have liked to see a few additional visuals to help tell the story.
  • 3/1 11:23 am - The first-hand account was very powerful. Maybe a little more b-roll would have really helped to drive the message.
  • 2/27 8:21 pm - The audio was a little low. The facts were impactful, as were the images of the accident, but a Ken Burns effect might have helped drive the impact home. While we empathized with the interview subject, there wasn't a lot of variety in footage apart from still images. Perhaps some b-roll of him teaching could have been used as well.

Positives: Good message.

Improvements: The movement of the pictures and text across the screen wasn't necessary. I think some slow zooms would look better

Judge 2

Positives: Great ending line. Great message. Solid information laid out. Remember to always be building up - a small beat lost in edit slows everything.

Improvements: Poor choice of location for interview. If subject could make better eye contact with the lens, the message may be stronger. This is the directors job to do. Errol Morris uses a mirror system or two teleprompters to get the subject to look into the lens.
