• 3/7 10:46 am - The creative use of camera work make this package come to life. I really enjoyed how you covered all aspects of the arts in your footage. The story was very well written and informative. The interviews enhanced the aspect of the program and getting students and administration to comment on the program was really effective. There were no issues with audio.
• 3/5 2:58 pm - Fantastic b-roll that is well-paced and demonstrates what we hear in the voice over. The voice over is concise and engaging. The shot of Matthew Holdren is a little awkward -- the tripod could have been raised so that he is not looking down. That shot is also a little overexposed. Same for the shot of Bryce. Try to balance the lighting a little better. The shot of Priest was better. Overall, very well done.

Judge 1

Positives: - Nice variety of shots! - Interviews are framed nicely.

Improvements: - Many missed opportunities for natural sound. For example, the drums, the choir, the play. Natural sound would have been much more compelling than the music track in conveying the coolness of the fine arts program. - Work to write more conversationally.

Judge 2

Positives: Excellent creativity in camera work. Good variation of shots, good close-ups and lots of movement. Good selection of things to illustrate story. Message is clear.

Improvements: Sound could have worked better with volume of natural sound turned up. Especially missed it with great shots of students playing instruments but didn't hear the sound of the instruments ( drums, horn, xylophone, piano). Good interview with Department Chair but might have stood out visually a bit more if he were not wearing the same color as the backdrop. A good rule of thumb for studio interviews is- ask the Interviewee to bring a change of clothing in case the camera or background doesn't work well with what he or she plans to wear.
