Entry Description

This is a movie trailer we produced for our class. We wanted to take a more humorous look at a dark situation.

  • 4/27 5:26 pm - Intriguing premise. Shots are well composed. Good use of sound effects. The cooking at the end is an interesting twist to draw in the audience.
  • 3/22 7:45 am - The camera is very shaky throughout, though in some places it adds to the seriousness; in others it’s distracting. The cooking montage has a series of quick shots that make it hard to comprehend exactly what’s happening throughout. Other than that, the editing pieces the story together, and sound and lighting are even through and through.
  • 3/6 3:08 pm - The story was a bit hard to follow. There was too much happening in the trailer, and made it feel like the story lacked focus. The coloring of the shots was strong but the mix of steady and handheld was too erratic. The sound was very strong, mixing clearly controlled what the audience was supposed to hear (I really enjoyed the neck cracking SFX). Some of the scenes felt over edited - when designing shots for a scene, always ask what the story calls for in terms if its coverage.
