- 3/7 1:14 pm - The story here is very clear. I enjoy hearing the voiceovers of the different characters. The attention to detail of adding "the following preview" and the ending graphic is great! The editing pace is fast as it should be for a suspenseful film. Some of the shots outside are too dark and the shots of the eyes are grainy.
- 3/5 10:24 pm - The story was well crafted and I liked your variety of shots and quick cuts to build up the action as the trailer progressed. Good demonstration of trailer editing with quick cuts, dips to black and audio lines that scream big-movie promotion. I think you needed to have some live on-screen dialogue in this trailer. I wanted to see a character speak and I wanted to see the three of them interact with one another as opposed to sitting silently. Those shots were fine, but give me a sense of conflict amongst the friends. Do they suspect one another? Do they gang up on one person over another? These are good questions to answer to further develop your trailer's rising action.
Judge 1
Positives: The low, bass-y, ambient soundtrack works well – and there is an effective shift to the louder section of the soundtrack to match the pace of the edit. Narrative is clear.
Improvements: Audio production could be improved, which would greatly enhance the quality of the piece. Simply booming/mic'ing characters to capture dialogue more effectively would help quite a bit. Additional use of lighting, and a distinct visual style, to set the horror/thriller tone could be helpful as well.
