  • 3/6 8:41 pm - Nice opening! Microphone levels by the anchors seems very low and distant. Audio in new package #1 has hte audio going through just one channel when the reporter talks. Reporter seems too "careful" when reading- sounds monotonous because of that. Anchors- try to sit up straight and don't lean on your elbows on the table. Dance team script seemed unpracticed and choppy- read through the script to sound more practiced and professional. Prom interview sounded scared- like the reporter was reading the questions. Boy's tennis should be Boys'. Boy anchor continues to have some troubles with the script- hard to listen to him struggle. Credits at the end might be nice. Shot composition on the anchors could improve- perhaps some graphics in the corners- lots of headroom on the guy. Might want to consider a more professional attire too. It's a high school show, so we don't expect a shirt and tie or a prom dress, but a professional look never hurts. Enjoyed the variety of the news and announcements throughout the show- there's a lot you cover in a short amount of time. Fine tune the little things and pre-read those scripts and things will keep getting better!!
  • 3/3 1:40 pm - Audio seems low throughout. Anchors are leaning in to the camera a bit too much. I found myself leaning in toward you like we were exchanging secrets. Whenever possible, wear professional dress. Relax, smile, enjoy this... Touching story about Lexi. Some color issues at times and there was no audio in right channel. Other than that...a well-done piece. Same with prom fashion show...audio was only in left and the audio kind of just cuts in at the beginning. After watching whole show, all segments seemed to only have audio in left channel. Nice mic flag with the assistant principal. Good job working in both news stories/segments AND school announcements.
  • 3/2 1:55 pm - Anchors look like they are going to tell us a secret. Sit up. That would also help with the composition of the anchors. They also need to relax. They are so serious and then we get to see the real them at the very, very end. Let's see that personality more! Segments only had audio in one channel. Lexi piece nicely done, especially with the sensitivity of the topic. Nice variety of b-roll in packages. Glad you marked the prom dress footage from last year. Boy's Tennis should be Boys' Tennis since there is more than one member.
  • 2/25 12:36 pm - Good cold open and good open for the show. Nice first story - very emotional. Good sound bytes with a variety of people who can speak about Lexi. Nice use of pictures in this story and good use of natural audio from the graduation clip. One of the sound bytes was upcut at the end. Good stories on Speech team and on the dance team. I like how you had your news packages in the show first, followed by the announcements for various events. Sweet looking Cardinal mic flag! Overall, a good show - be sure to balance your audio levels. I found myself raising and lowering my volume a bit. The 2 anchors had a very nice on-camera presence.

Positives: To be honest, the best part of the whole thing was the sign off. Good energy, liked the music, the anchors seemed engaged.

Improvements: The opening list of what we're going to see needs WAY more energy and the sound was too quiet. The sound in in the studio is too quiet - so hard to hear. Generally the sound mixing is really, really off. Also, off camera voice over reads should be perfect. Don't be afraid to do another take. Make sure you're not cutting off interview bites. When you interview people, they shouldn't be in front of a bright window - the light should always shine on their faces. In studio energy needs to pump up. Graphics with lots of names and info are too hard to read. I thought you could have done way more with the dance team piece - there wasn't any video of the performance, pics with the trophy, etc. Cut into the prom fashion show piece was too close and you cut off words. The edits between anchors are not dynamic or interesting. Also, super low energy.

Positives: Loved the overhead shot and enjoyed the feature story.

Improvements: Energy, and enthusiasm must rise to the occasion. Rhythm from the on-camera reporters has to be the first thing fixed for credibility.
