  • 3/6 8:29 pm - Music was cut off on the intro. The last 10 seconds of the intro was the best- was more professional than the first part. Audio of the anchors sounds distant- like no mics are being used. I cn hear the director of the show in the background on every take. Have to do something about that! Nameplates should include first and last names. Be care ful with your green screens- the anchors glasses get taken away and can be seen through. Consider decreasing the size of the graphic you have up on the screen the whole show- gets in eh way when trying to watch B-roll. Weird sound in the middle of an anchor's sentence? Lighting is a bit dark on some of the anchors- make sure front lighting is used even when keying. The show is very entertainment based- which is fine, but make sure your main anchor's enthusiasm matches the type of show you are creating. At times, it seemed like he didn't want to be there. The B-roll used in the show is pretty good, just need to technically improve a lot of the little things. Though the singing at the end is plain awful, it was a funny way to end things. I'm sure your audience got a big kick out of that. Again, watch because it just cuts off at the end. Keep working!
  • 3/3 12:13 pm - Look a little more at the details...intro music just cuts off at beginning (fade this out), lots of background noises (from director cues to squeaking chairs, etc.). Audio seems to be an issue with the anchors. In the beginning, sounds like male anchor is mic'd and the female anchor is not. This seems to get resolved by mid-show. Consider using last names for all lower thirds to identify your subjects. Anchors should remain focused on the camera when delivering. A couple of misplaced sound cues. Overall, I think you have the "bones" of a great show. Pay a little more attention to the technical details of producing a show. This doesn't cost a dime and can improve your show dramatically in a short period of time.
  • 2/25 12:26 pm - Not sure about the setup of your studio, but you can hear the director in the background. The first story regarding college vs career - interview someone who has changed their mind, someone who has gone into a career right out of high school, and someone who has gone to college - getting a variety of perspectives will help the viewer understand they have choices and will give them something to think about. This would also lend more credibility to your story in regards to "check out your choices before you make a decision". Look back at the order of your stories - if this were my show, I would group the college-related stories together and the tech-related stories together. A few technical mistakes in this show. Would love to see the hosts of the show have a bit more enthusiasm about their stories. Energy in a host is key to a successful show. Love the original credits at the end! Very creative with everyone taking part in the singing of the lyrics.

Positives: The beginning and the end were quite entertaining. The entertainment pkg was nicely edited

Improvements: The writing needs some improvement. I was confused about several of the stories. The story about phantom vibrations would've been a great place to talk to fellow students to see if they experience it. I was confused about the vo on choosing a college. Here was another place you could've talked to a guidance counselor and asked fellow students what they plan to do next year.

Positives: Graphics package looks sharp. Photography moves and I think that's imperative to good broadcast journalism.

Improvements: 2-shot needs to be centered. Energy of anchors needs to increase. You're not reading, you're "anchoring"
