Entry Description

A group of Jedi high school students face the unthinkable when their teacher ends up being a Sith lord. They have to work together in order to rise up against the Sith and save their school.

• 4/28 9:30 am - An ambitious effort! This is a fun piece with nicely choreographed movements/actions. It also features strong special effects. On future projects of this type, you may want to try penetrating the space of your fight scenes more often with your camera. This will provide you many more editing options. In addition, you will be able to present the viewer with more dynamic perspectives of the action. Be careful how you introduce humor/comedy in a piece like this. At times in your piece, the drama is compromised unintentionally or intentionally by humor.
• 3/7 9:05 am - Great use of effects and locations, and Chroma key transition to gym.
• 3/5 11:10 am - Great effects. Well framed shots. Great transition from the park to the gym. Good audio. This seems like excerpts from a longer piece. Story does not quite resolve.

Judge 1

Positives: Fun story. I like how the sound effects match up and the editing that you do with all of the light sabers is well done.

Improvements: Try to make sure that the audio is level and blended. At times it is a little distracting. It also just drops at the 2:25 point. There is a flash frame at 3:00. Some shots are a little too close, and that become a little jarring to watch.

Improvements: Camera work at times needs more fluidity—some jerkiness (issue in post?); lighting at times has too much shadowing that distracts rather than enhances
