3 minute segment of Waubonsie Valley basketball broadcast
Positives: good use of hand held for hero shots very nice graphics/score bar, though including the clock would enhance
Improvements: utilize hand held for freethrows more variety of shots during time out. better coordination between play-by-play and color announcer
Positives: Good lower third / score graphic. Nice and easy to read. Nice cut away to the crowd when there wasn't any game action.
Improvements: Audio was a bit too much and peaked right out of the gate in this clip. A few panic moves with the camera. Using a table top mic stand is a must or a clip on. I can hear the mic being handled. Multiple times the video was blurry.
Positives: I liked that the Director did not get nervous when a 3-pointer went up while on the low camera. Good patience to ride it out and let the shot go through before going back out to the game camera. Camera placement was done well, as there were more available than a typical HS production. Well done. Obviously replay would have been nice with the different looks. Good cutaways used during the timeout.
Improvements: Audio was over-modulated during key moments/excitement, which can be tricky to do. Anticipating the big play is key. A common mistake is trying to switch to a different camera from the corner. Most of the time it is more jarring for the viewer to be switched to something quick, rather than just keep it on the game camera even if you are unable to see 100% of the shot. After the shot you can THEN switch to the hero shot up the court. The talent needed to do a better job of working together. The color analyst did not try and get in when he needed to, but when he did both of them kind of talked over each other. There were times that they referred to "Jake", but then kept talking to not let Jake in.
