• 3/7 3:09 pm - Nice professional looking settings with a fog machine. Cool special effects that synced up with the beat of the music really well. It was really impressive for the first minute and then it became evident we weren't going anywhere new. In a video that centers around performance of the song, you have to give your viewer a lot of variety. Go to multiple locations, have your set of special effects morph into something else. The viewer started and ended in the same place.

Judge 1

Positives: Editing. The effects and cuts to the beat were spot on. Nicely done. They were appropriate for a hip-hop video and kept a consistent level of visual intrigue throughout the video. Locations. Good variety of locations and they were well suited to a performance hip-hop video.

Improvements: Focus. A lot of the performance segments against the white seamless were out of focus. Some were sharp, others were not. This inconsistency was frustrating to watch and detracted from the otherwise consistent quality of the piece. Performance. The talent was good at lip syncing but he lacked energy and charisma. Often times it seemed he was barely interested in being on camera.
