  • 4/28 5:20 am - Awesome broll, great story, solid piece
  • 4/27 8:23 pm - Well-written. Really wanted some soft instrumental, maybe around minus-28db, to enhance the mood - not create one. Well-done music is like well-done lighting - you don't really notice it, but it's subliminal support adds great value. Great storytelling.
  • 4/9 2:34 pm - Compelling story, well told. Nice opening shots and what a contrast between your footage and the home/phone movies. Cutaways are relevant to speaker’s words, but not redundant. I like your decisions to bleed the audio from one shot to another. Good decision to not lead your audience with music. There is plenty of emotion on tape.

Positives: Love how you let us meet Viv prior to the bulk of the story. Well told story. I felt that I wanted to hear more as you told the story. As a News Story it was great. As a Short form Doc, it was good. Your pacing was spot on and with the addition of some music you could have created a little more emotion.

Improvements: The VO makes it sound like a news story and not a doc. Consider using music under vo to help that bridge. There is a bad video edit at about 3:09 - Audio levels between cuts are rough at times. When you complete a project, prior to "handing it in"... It is critical to watch and listen to each and every frame, transition... If you hear or see something that is not the best it can be, fix it. Doing this brings it to the next level.

Positives: I liked the journalistic perspective. The story was well told emotionally.

Improvements: Some music may have helped, even a little, but I understand it was more of a news segment tan a film.
