• 3/15 3:09 pm - Some shots should not have been used. Too shaky and not composed well. Some good interviews. Audio done well. Story not really cohesive.
• 3/7 11:50 am - Great b-roll, fun story, I got a sense of the excitement and comradery. It was a little confusing to have some of your interviewees talk directly to the camera. In these types of packages, it is more the custom to have your interviewees look off camera.
• 3/1 3:56 pm - Great start!! Watch your framing of the interviews. You do a great job of getting Nat sound, which helps make your story even stronger. I would pay attention to the interviews, and to make sure that you can find the focus of the story. At the start it is about Haley, then it is about the freshman. Try to pick one and stick with that story. Good job.

Judge 1

Positives: I liked the way the piece started. It was a good use of nats and set the scene well. I knew exactly what this was about and where we were. I like that you interviewed a variety of people. Good variety of shots from pro, during and post race.

Improvements: I thought the pkg started well, but I was quickly confused. I thought the coach was a reporter based on her narration. I would have asked her a few questions to make it more natural and less like a script. Never let the interviewee hold the mic. They never know where to hold it and it looks sloppy. The piece ended abruptly. You could have added some nats of cheering at the end. Always add some pad video at the end so the sots don't freeze.

Positives: This piece did not engage me…probably makes more sense to the kids at this school.

Improvements: Pace of this piece feels choppy.

Positives: Nice beginning. Good choice for sound and pictures.

Improvements: No story telling here. It felt like a commercial for the team, not a story about the team. More descriptive interviews talking about team spirit or a struggle they overcame together, would give the story meaning.
