  • 3/27 10:35 pm - Great job of letting the text roll in at the beginning. I liked how you shot the interviews at the rink and Anna on the ice. It made great sense to show Anna on the ice and have her mother be behind the class. Good use of B-roll throughout, would have loved to of seen just more of her on ice. Their are some awkward pauses so maybe some of the interviews could be cut together a bit tighter.
  • 3/6 9:34 pm - Great story idea, compelling narrative and focus towards the end about how she has grown through skating. Great use of broll to help tell the visual story, but it would have been nice to see a greater variety of shots as she skated on the ice. More audio editing, to take out awkward pauses and phrasing would help with the story flow as well. Keep working on capturing quality broll and this project will improve dramatically.

Positives: What a great story! You stayed on point and topic, great use of the interviews and story telling. Love the interviewer asking the question at the end. It added to the "real" I felt by watching it. Thanks for doing this story.

Improvements: Try not to us auto iris on the camera. Shooting in a loud environment is difficult and you had no choice. I also understand that not everyone has access to great audio gear. One thing to try is placing the mic differently - you did a great job given the difficult location. The use of a small light would have helped the interview look.

Positives: The story was portrayed well. The music selection was a good choice.

Improvements: I feel the cinematography could have been improved to raise this to the next tier. The subject was not the best on camera speaker.
