  • 3/6 12:13 pm - Great intro. Audio was all clear and well balanced. Good energy. Clear editing, no distractions.
  • 3/1 1:56 pm - Opening was creative, well shot, and edited. Sound was excellent as score, natural sound, and dialogue were mixed well. Camera work was excellent as it is difficult to shoot something happening live. Lighting was consistent. The opening and closing helped creative a complete story in this short clip. Well done!

Positives: Fun opening! You do a great job of capturing his fun personality. Good choice to start with this music (though I think you need to vary it as the clip goes on)

Improvements: When he enters the office, there's weird audio - I can't tell if people are talking, and it's edited out, or if it's just weird silence...either way, it should be smoothed out. When Paul is showing the man in the chair the cards, his head is out of frame - that's something you should think about: if you need to get a close up of the cards, maybe that's a separate shot you get later and cheat it in? In the office, the music is too loud and distracting. The crew always needs to think about the plan ahead of time - you should try to not get other shooters in the shot. If Paul can secretly tell the crew what is going to happen, that will help for setting a shot.

Positives: -Camera moves and short takes aid the feel. The snap zooms and such lend the feel of 'on-the-fly'. -The camera follows, particularly in the hall, were steady enough, but not so steady as to break style. Camera settings were close enough to keep IRE and color temperature close to consistent. -Competent usage of available lighting. -Camera corrections were not concealed, but overt enough to count as stylistic.

Improvements: -Audio jump-cutsmake evident that we're jumping through time. -Caught a camera guy in the shot during a reveal. -Shot of talent carrying a camera on tripod. This redefines talent without explanation and occurs a single time. This shot should not be there. -Some shots linger past the 'usable' action, breaking tempo and upbeat feel. Stale shots draw attention away from the wonder of the event.
