Entry Description
This is the first year our school is trying a weekly news magazine show (this is actually our first attempt). While anchor based, the emphasis of storytelling is told within the actual stories - the anchors just provide the transitions between each story.

- 3/23 11:19 am - Great intro; the anchor shot is on… If possible, Lose the old studiio cams and shoot on ONE HD field camcorders- (I don’t see any switching anyway) / High end ringing in anchor audio / New stem building: dept. chair audio- is that onboard cam mic??? Get an external mic! / Incoming freshman story: man on the street- no real narrative arc Football story: solid fundamentals; music with lyrics competes with VO/sound bites / Last story: get an external mic!!! 2nd man on street story- show more storytelling breadth! / Bravo for moving into this realm and an impressive start; some technical and editorial hurdles to conquer in future years
- 3/6 12:12 pm - I like the idea and the concept of a magazine show with emphasis on the content of the stories. The anchor desk, I think is sometimes to formal for a show like this because it takes away from the "human interest" element that the stories have. Maybe have the talent get out into the community outside of school and away from the anchor desk? They can still be the glue or transitional element between stories, but won't formalize the look of a studio show. The anchor shot looked to be over exposed. Overall, the content was pretty good. If this is the first shot at a show like this, it would be interesting to see where you guys are at now!
