• 3/7 7:06 pm - Needs a stronger open. Opening background footage behind the title is weak because the athletes are just standing around. The title on a black screen might have worked better, then cutting in to the chalking up clip. High-spirited music bed works great. The occasional retiming works in this piece. A few nice closeup angles were included on the beam and bars. Tumbling runs from :25-:32 were too repetitive, all with the same basic framing. Almost all the tumbling runs were shot from the side as a long shot. Needed more shot variety (composition and shot angle) to maintain interest. Clips for the last ten seconds were a weak finish--gymnasts hanging out with most of them with their backs to the camera.
